We'll see, not holding my breath, but this is one of the least contentious books about the band. It just needs some info about some recording data from the people who were there.

I haven't put any feelers at all out towards Nod.
He greatly values his privacy and has previously said that he doesn't want to talk about Slade all the time.
I choose to respect that decision.
There are lots of press quotes that do various jobs in the book.

How’s the book coming along Ian mate

Over 100,000 words. Putting some illustrations in as a break from research and writing at present. We have found some good stuff.

Myself and my writing partner have taken a little break from the book as both of our wives are unwell and we have had a lot of other things on our plates recently. I intend to do 2-3 hours a day Tues - Friday for a while.

Writing hundreds of words about the singles from 'You boyz make big noize' fills me with slight dread at the moment!! But it will be done.

We have been beavering away at the Slade book for a while. We are now on 101095 words. I have been adding final illustrations and critically editing and formatting the first part of the book today. I am hoping we (my writing partner and myself) can sign off up to the end of 1972 and then start to work forward from there.

We have - of course - got quite a lot written about the releases from 1973 onwards, but I thought we needed to lock some part of the book off and call it finished - the first 56 pages.

If it all comes together how I want it to, it will be THE Slade reference book.

I don't intend to labour on the biographical details of the band, or indeed anything about their private lives. Contentious stuff gets you sued.

This book is about their product with a little bit about each year to start that year's pages off.

Amazing mate

Very much looking forward to this publication. No need for bios etc but it would be a coup if band members provided you with some behind the scenes perspectives and insights into the writing and recording of the albums as well as decisions about singles releases.

The book is currently split into two parts. It will all be in one volume when published, but I've had to split it as it is now too big to pass as a single file in Facebook messenger to my writing partner.

Lots of illustrations are going in now and I am hoping we can sign off the work that we have done taking the story up to the end of 1975.

I was working on ideas for the front cover today.
I can't share those, as the title is ermmmm 'top secret' until the book is sorted.
