THE SLADE FAN CLUB NEWSLETTERS

Credit where credit is really due.

The images on this part of the website are from Dave Kemp's www.sladefanclub.com site, which unfortunately went offline after he sadly passed away. The images are hosted on here with a full acknowledgement of his superhuman efforts on behalf of Slade's fans, along with those of the other fan club magazine editors and their helpers.

The Polydor period official newsletters were reproduced in a book called THE SLADE PAPERS, which was put into print by Music Sales Ltd in 1977. This book, though well out of print now is still an absolutely essential purchase for all Slade fans.  Try to hunt a copy down if you can.

Credit should be given to Dave Kemp for getting the band so involved in the newsletters from 1979 onwards. Jim Lea told us that he only spoke to the offical Fan Club newsletter once or twice and that staff wrote most of the band messages for them, as they were always away on on tour.

The independent band-approved newsletters published during the lifetime of the original band line-up from 1981 - 1992 were later reproduced in a short-run series of limited-edition books from NOIZE Books And Recordings. Dave's widow Barbara Kemp and all of the newletter editors were happy for us to do this. 100% of all proceeds went to kidney research.uk.org in Dave Kemp's memory. The quality of the images and print was greatly improved for the books by Ian Edmundson.

As they were a definite limited edition, these books will not be reprinted.
