If you own a copy of the book have you discovered something that you didn't know before ? Doesn't have to be earth shattering , just something that made you think or go back to look at an album sleeve of label or a snippet of information . A simple yes or no will suffice.

Am confused (must buy the book!). When did Slade start/stop releasing on Barn? That's the label I think of when Slade are mentioned. Polydor makes me think of Rainbow (and Purple post-'84), and baked beans (the colour). Know this was dealt with in Chris Charlesworth's book, but I lost it. :D ...

The 6th edition will of course be "Six of the Best"

..more like around the bend.

Luckily we , or at least I haven't , haven't had too much negative about about the price or the delivery dates . The odd niggle but once it's explained it's all down to Amazon everyone seems to understand. We have to buy copies of the book ourselves . The hardback cost me £40. I had to complain and ...

Cover detail amended VERY slightly.

This review being checked by Amazon as I type. It may be amended when I revise and check for typo's:
This review is for the 2021 hard cover edition.
Well, what's the word am looking for? Think it might be 'WOW.' This is now undoubtedly the best book about Slade out there. Although listed as a ...

We sat in a corner of the pub out of the way . Nobody hassled us and when we left we were just 3 blokes walking to our cars. All good fun .

It will Mark , spoke to Daryl yesterday.

Amazon moves in mysterious ways .

I have spoken to Daryl on a regular basis since I was interviewed for his book a couple of years ago . He told me last week that they hope to have it published for sometime around the 50th anniversary of "MWACN"

I paid £40.00, but consider that a bargain! The new hardback edition is so good, it makes my soft back old edition look gauche.
The layout of the new one is much improved, and it now looks like a volume that OMNIBUS would publish, it's THAT good.
The extended text about Dave's music is fab, and ...

Thanks Bill. Made my day.

Worth the effort though Ian. I hope a few people on here own a copy and if not ..why not?

admin wrote: December 17th, 2019, 11:31 pm Jim's copy and Joff's went in the post today...

I've been advised not to comment.

Brilliant. It will make this forum have less traffic as all the answers to anyone's questions are now to hand!

Oh shit. Book deleted!
Well, maybe not...

'Them am a music band. Them am named Slade.' Is this Black Country dialect?
That is in Chris' intro bit. Some people he was with pointed ...

Richard wrote about it at the time. The review is around somewhere. This is the sort of stuff that should have been on the latest SA release.

The story has always been rubbish.. the sessions were widely advertised in the national press..limited to 2 tickets per person available to the 1st 500 applications..which covers the 300+ per night in the audience. The fan club probably got tickets as well plus the ususal liggers.

As Chris would probably agree, Lise's English is very good. We proof read the book as it was being written and there were only a few grammatical errors. My grasp of her native language is nil.

It's true..her written and spoken English is excellent..she had a couple of problems with the Black ...

I voted for the Charlesworth book..I was torn between a the group's story or the 2 biographies..I went for the group story but Don's book would have got my next vote .
