Post by RJ0606 »

Hi all,
"the Noize" and "Six years on the road"are indispensable items of awell assorted Slade collection. What about another book including all Slade lyrics from 1966 onwards?

The problem with doing a book of lyrics is that it would infringe copyright, unless it was done in association with the publishers.

Don Powell has done a book of his lyrics here - http://paulcooksonpoet.co.uk/store-3/products

While we are on the subject of lyrics. Does anyone have the definitive lyrics for the Raven form Play it Loud? I've read some on the internet and they dont always seem correct

It is too true, that there are so many false lyrics to be find out there in the www...so in Dons Book it`s correct. I have a funny story to tell...during my High Scholl Education second way,I had a very cool English Teacher...David Pearson..and I asked him exactly the same question:Would you be so kind to translate some Slade Lyrics for me...and he did!
But Slade Lyrics are kinda tricky it seems. he managed Raven neraly perfectly(by ear) just one word or so was wrong - as I found out reading Dons Lyric Book. But David was such a cool Bloke and he came down with Man who...and said: I`ve done my very best, but this Noddy Holder Accent...and he was still nearly correct...I cannot remember from which part of England he was,but certainly not from the Black Country.
