I deliberately avoided this book after reading some reviews and comments about it, for fear of being left with a diminished view of Noddy.

Too much of a "get off my lawn" vibe for me. In this case, Alice Cooper's new song Shut Up And Rock would be an appropriate review! :P

I forgot about this thread but did get around to reading the book.

I thought it was OK but nothing special. I gave it a 6.

I took it as an addendum to his first book and on that basis enjoyed it.
It all depends on what one expects from a book.

Nod did his biog with Lisa Verrico and that was what it was. An account of his early life, his time with Slade and afterwards.
I don't know what people were expecting in the book. You have to be really careful what you put into print, as Nod told us. All of the band were at a different point about talking about the split at that time. More has come out in interviews since. That's just how it goes.
