COME ON WEAR THE NOIZE

Dave Hill's book on UNBOUND appears to be going no-wear (sic) so far, with only 12% funding and 104 "supporters".

Oh dear . . . shame. *dave

It's been at that level for some time.
Possibly the most ephemeral book that is related to Slade.
"How many ways I decided to dress silly."

I've pledged but I will not be at all surprised if it doesn't come off

What I`ve learned about his character in past years...is absolute contrare to what I was made belive during the seventies...but I still think...it was`nt all bollocks he wore...take a look at Bowie...Cooper...Roy Wood...I realize it stuck to 12% since ever...and not awaiting it to come to see the light of the day, but it would be a good read and "a good "LOOK" at! And probably some unknown backround infos ...let`s say about the Metal Nun and how this one came to frution...or the multi Super Yobs Outfits...who mde `em...etc etc..."H" isn`t the one talking/revealing about the Sound..,.he`s a a strong part of the image next to Holder..so I`d like to read it...

14% now.
I actually hadn't realized Dave was putting together a new book until I read this thread.

Basically, what happened was there was a bit of a rush when it was first announced, then, as it failed to pick up an amount of momentum like the Dave Hill autobiography did, the push to sell it stopped as the pledge numbers were very low and referring people back to a site where the numbers are not growing is slightly embarrassing. Hence the silence and the stagnant numbers.

Dave's autobiography pledges stuck at around 75% for what seems like an age, but Unbound eventually made the decision to go ahead with it. That project could have collapsed very easily.

It's down to the authors and those around them to get people to the Unbound site, though they do push a little themselves. Dave and his co-author seems to be doing little or nothing to get this going (though I could be wrong about that).

I suspect that Unbound will sit on the project for a while, then may abandon it.

If they have self-published it like we did via Amazon, we'd all have read it months ago.
But the money is not going to be as good if they did it on Amazon.

CLASSIC ROCK MAGAZINE, PLANET ROCK RADIO & ROCK CANDY MAGAZINE are good places to try & get traction on this.
PLANET ROCK RADIO have been playing something by SLADE most weekends, and ROCK CANDY carried an excellent in depth piece about the 70's American sojourn.
Apart from BOY GEORGE, no-one was as outrageous in costume as DAVE HILL!
